What is the importance of having a “vision” from the point of view of seeing objects in the world?

Can anyone explain why vision is critical apart from seeing objects and colors?

I've worn contacts for 40 years and always wear sunglasses outside. When I try the distance viewing outside without sunglasses, my eyes water and burn. Even in the shade.

Hmm... I have right eye dominant and I see mostly through it. My left eye is lazy eye. And I have feeling that when oculist put any "+" or "-" lens on it I can't see any better or worse.

My husband and I just went to the nearby park. We both stared at the sun with our arms upward. We both felt so good after doing that. We drive around the city a lot and that gave us a relief from glasses. Thanks, Dr. Huberman!❤❤
