My paternal grandfather was a recovery diver for the Navy and later the Texas Department of Public Safety. He and my grandmother had six children so people often asked him if they were catholic. His answer was “no, we are just sexy baptists.”

I am an uneducated, stupid and unemployable man, I never ever will get admission in Stanford University, but still I can hear Stanford professor lecture.
by (100 points)
And there's a BIG difference between uneducated and not smart.
You already know you're smart or you wouldn't be attracted to content like this in the first place! ☕
by (100 points)
We never stop learning - and are being educated as long as we have both humility and curiosity. As opposed to rigidity and ego.
by (100 points)
’t speak that into existence, kidding or not.
by (100 points)

The word is: FORMALLY educated. Not UNDER.
by (100 points)
more like half assed educated
by (100 points)
Great self awareness brother! Keep learning
by (100 points)
People who say they're stupid and aren't expressing frustration with themselves are usually the smart ones.
by (100 points)
Man, don’t call yourself stupid please.
You may be “uneducated” but if you’re reading this type of content - you’re far from stupid.
Wishing you all the best.

Samesies!!!
I thank Huberman a bit more than tho. I believe they were hiding his content up until recently.
by (100 points)
point.
by (100 points)
agreed. Two things society is lacking, imo. Common sense we could use more of as well!
by (100 points)
You're stupid because you claim to and choose to be
by (100 points)
lol screw stanford and every one of those elitist institutions
by (100 points)
The institutions have nothing to do with the quality of the teachers. I'd be lucky to meet Andrew Huberman ANYWHERE.
by (100 points)
WAIT A MINUTE!! Does not listen to this. Scratch "stupid" already!!
by (100 points)
fer shur!!
by (100 points)
@@ShortMonster420
But still 'stupid'...his own words.
by (100 points)
Yes! Common sense comes from the ability to learn from mistakes and grow.  Funny how some haven't - and continue causing mehem or worse...despite a university education (e.g. politicians!)

I think you are smart for making the smart decision to listen to Dr Huberman. Such acquired intelligence is yours and no one can take that away. Congratulations

I am Korean and live in Korea. I've always wanted to thank you Dr Huberman for your wonderful podcasts. And the research on Korean women divers really excited me! These women started to dive to feed their families and they just look like your average Korean grandma on the outside to me!
Thank you Dr Melissa llardo!

My grandpa was this type of fisherman but from a smaller town and not the same area. He was able to hold his breath deep underwater and hunt. My grandpa was so amazing.

Another amazing function of the spleen is that the blood that is being released fill alveoli in the lung to prevent them from collapsing at depth more than 40 meters. That's why many freedivers get stuck at this level until that reflex is trained property.

Reflexology and Acupuncture support the idea that what is happening internally is corresponding to external manifestations. The feet especially are interesting since the divers you discussed have smooth and unblemished feet, which would indicate optimal health. I learned recently that the horizontal line on the torso that follows the nipples is completely mimicked by a horizontal line across the knees. Just thinking out loud—the body is fascinating and I enjoy reading these discussions:)
