Why is the tag fighter format for Invincible Versus set to 3v3?

Could someone elucidate why the dev team decided on a 3v3 tag fighter format for Invincible Versus game?

I desperately hope they don’t leave out characters that haven’t appeared in the content yet, just because they haven’t appeared….

they most likely will. It helps them reach a wider audience. If they bring characters that haven’t appeared yet, only people would be less likely to play. The game’s story mode is written by the showmakers so that’s really their target audience.

The game is gonna tell an original story so they might bring in characters not shown in the show yet but it won’t spoil anything.

As someone who hasn't read the comics, I hope they do. I don't want to be spoiled for the show. Besides, it's unlikely they include characters that aren't in the show yet, since all the voice actors of the show are voicing their characters here, and I doubt they include a character where the show creators haven't decided on an actor yet.

I mean.. the game comes out in 2026, probably after Season 4 drops which will introduce tons of new characters like Thragg and Dinosaurus

this is slated to come out AFTER season 4 of the show, so I think characters like "the best hairline in the universe", Adult "RC" "OG" and "MG" will be part of the show by the time the game comes out, so they should be good to be playable

this is a selfish perspective. They should add any character that adds to the fun of the game.

Voice actors have been hired already for plenty of future roles and it's insane that a 22 year old comic has to put on kid gloves because some adults can't handle seeing a character in a fictional timeline vs the canon story.

You didn't even consider DLC, just keep your perspective's experience pristine.

The only question I have about the game is; Will there be more characters?

And by "more", I mean like all the characters from the entire Invincible library including the spin-off comics and maybe even the original superheroes from the animated series.

I feel like this game could have a lot of potential the art style is great, the bit animations are a little eh compared to many other 2d fighters, the cutscene hit animations are flawless. Hopefully they can translate that in the game to give it more life it flows more, but it’s still early. Hopefully some stage transitions as well.
