What a time to be alive!!!! Despite all the intentional divide … we all are amazing species and Dr Huberman educates us how… and for that we are grateful!!!

I am an uneducated man, I never ever will get admission in Stanford University, but still I can hear Stanford professor lecture because of this platform

Therefore Huberman is educating you. Therefore no longer uneducated just undereducated.

And there's a BIG difference between uneducated and not smart.
You already know you're smarter you wouldn't be attracted to content like this in the first place! ☕

Prof. Huberman's content always make me feel calmer and more grounded as a human being. Thank you for continuously sharing great knowledge with us

Breath hold like if BoLT is 40 seconds like training in high altitude and high intensity exercises spleen contract to release red blood cells (book oxygen advantage by Patrick Mackwen). I know all these as a pro medical doctor interested in healthy life style and have a channel about health under my name in English. Very good to draw attention to breathing hold exercises.

Looking forward to hearing this one later today! Huberman, it’s been a while that you don’t do a solo episode. They were great to introduce us to new topics and discussions. Thank you for everything!

Discussion highlights include: Melissa Ilardo discussing how behavior and environment can rapidly reshape gene expression, even transgenerationally. The debate of Nature vs Nurture in gene expression and how eye color can change over time due to UV exposure. The concept of epigenetics and how trauma and famine can alter inheritable gene expression, as well as the importance of mate selection based on immune genes. The impact of globalization on gene combinations and the evolution of novel diseases. The unique adaptations of sea nomads for extreme freediving abilities and the cultural importance of diving skills. The mammalian dive reflex and how cold facial immersion can temporarily boost blood oxygen levels. The genetic advantages that allow the Bajau to have larger spleens and the health benefits of the dive reflex. The remarkable endurance of elderly Korean female divers and the dietary-driven gene selection in human evolution. The ethical considerations surrounding genetics, CRISPR, and embryo genetic screening. The discussion concludes with the question of whether humans are a single species despite extreme variation. ¡Hola Profe! Such fascinating conversation. I was wondering is there such a thing as "skip of one generation" if we are talking about genetics. For example, my dad had a dimple on his chin, I didn't inherit it, but both of my kids have it. Thank You for all Your hard work and care for all of us.

Thank you for the part about genetics how it's changed over time with mutation, but it changes perspective on earliest mating and population building. That operating system

Oh I remember the first generation mixed DNA being discussed so much in 2012/2013

Dr. Melissa Ilardo discusses human genetics, focusing on populations with unique diving abilities. She explores how behavior shapes gene expression, the interplay between nature and nurture, and ethical considerations of genetic engineering. The conversation covers topics like mate selection, human performance, and evolutionary adaptations.

I don't think it's that difficult to modify our genes.
