I can’t explain it — learning how people used to sleep in shifts somehow made my anxiety quiet down.
Thank you.

When I worked at 4 am I did 2 4 hour naps and felt crazy, this makes me feel more normal lol

Right? There's something oddly comforting about knowing people used to wake up in the middle of the night and it wasn't considered a problem. Makes me wonder—have we overcomplicated sleep these days?
Anyone else feel strangely validated by medieval sleep habits?

Its 1A in New Jersey

It’s strangely comforting, right? Just knowing that fragmented sleep used to be totally normal kind of relieves the pressure to 'sleep perfectly.' Makes me feel less alone in those wake-ups.

I think nowadays we've over complicated almost everything.

good

made me grateful that the anxiety i feel is silly compared to what they had to face

I've been a night owl since the day I entered the world. It drove my mother crazy having an infant who slept all day, but was awake all night. Everything changed when I read the book Hidden Laws of Sleep, and then I literally changed my sleeping schedule overnight. I celebrate that day as my second birthday, because since then I have improved in every area of my life

are there so many copy cat channels like your one? Isn't it a bit shameless to have no originality whatsoever?

I've spent years trying to manifest my dream life but it never seemed to work for me. tried so many methods but still felt stuck. My friend and I heard about a book called Manifest and Receive by Eva Hartley, and I was hesitant at first. But after reading just a few chapters, I realized how much I was missing. Her approach is so different from anything I’ve ever tried. It’s not just about thinking positive, it’s about aligning with real-world actions that bring your desires into reality. Since then, I’ve manifested opportunities I never imagined possible, and my mindset has shifted completely❤️

During Covid for 18 months working at home, I experienced this! And I heard it was normal for four hours asleep two hours up four hours of sleep. It makes so much sense. I still do it on the weekends and over vacations.

Same here! I fell into that pattern too during lockdown and was surprised how natural it felt. It’s interesting how our bodies seem to adapt to a segmented sleep cycle when given the chance. Glad to hear I’m not the only one!
by (100 points)
isn't it interesting, if one year to us is 7 for a cat...or whatever number they say. Wouldn't they have 7 night periods per day with a nap between. It would seem they sleep all day Think of a baby's heart rate how many days do they truly experience per one day of an adult. Again time to one who works at a desk, and on a house.., eye of the beholder I presume.

So medieval folks had midnight snacks and segmented sleep? Suddenly my chaotic sleep schedule feels historically validated. Thanks, 14th century!

why isnt anyone talking about the amount of ads… I fall asleep but get waken up every now and then with obnoxious ads; one every now and then is okay, but it's too frequent for sleep in my opinion
by (100 points)
yea same for me, it took like 50 mins for me to fall asleep and i listened to approximately 10 ads during that time
by (100 points)

by (100 points)
Yeah unfortunately some platforms take some creative control away from content creators and make ads as obnoxious as possible so people buy premium.
by (100 points)
Yep I'm here with you that's why I usually listen to lets read he doesn't allow ads on his channel theres only 1 ad in his content, and he has 1.27mil following its the creator that allows to many ads

Can we have these on a platform without ads because it makes it really hard to fall asleep with interruptions every few minutes. Love Your Content.❤
by (100 points)
Just what I was about to type not the skip touch again. I can barely see it.
by (100 points)
I don't like paying for censorship, but then again if I worried about the politics of all products I would have no close but I do try. Watch commercials I do not.
by (100 points)
Spotify also has ads, unless you pay for the premium plan. What's the difference between paying for that and paying for premium services? They put a lot of work into their content and that's why they run ads. Just be grateful you can read it for free
by (100 points)
is $6 for me and wants like $16. All these subscriptions
by (100 points)

The story of medieval sleep is so weird and captivating! Imagining waking up mid-night to pray or sleeping with the whole family and chickens – it's a completely different world. Share more about those quirky medieval customs, it's fascinating!
