Hearing and balance systems have an impact on learning in different ways. For example, in an audit report conducted on Physics students and their achievement on the subject claimed that a student’s learning and concentration on a subject heavily relies on their hearing ability and balance. As described in “The Role of Hearing on Learning: Is Hearing, indeed. A Mystery”, students also face learning difficulties because of hearing issues that directs attention away from what is being learned or said. It describes how a person tunes in or focuses their attention to certain stimuli while being oblivious to place other things happening around them. “Sound Is for Soundtracks: A Film about the Importance of Sound” proves these claimed that the lack of hearing and the ability to paying attention

How does the auditory and vestibular systems work with the brain to improve learning?

As a therapist, we NEVER put anxious, traumatized, or autistic people into high Beta. It increases their risk of irritability and anger. We also rarely use theta waves with dissociative trauma survivors. They dissociate more. Be smart about this. If you have brain differences, please find a therapist that is trained in auditory treatment. I just used BBT in Alpha with a child that has Prader Willi syndrome. We used music designed for alertness and he responded amazingly well. But our BBT is very highly refined and designed for a therapeutic effect. It isn't what you can get with standard content.

Soo.. Alpha is all I am safe at?

Safe?  This isn't a death ray from Star Trek.  Becoming irritable listening to high Beta is counteracted by taking your dog for a walk in the sunshine.  Dissociating in Theta is counteracted by using stabilization techniques your therapist taught you.

Ooo funny schtuff! Listening to high beta is simple enough to get away from..that is obvious. I was under the impression that you were referring to the experience of having the brain itself "in" Beta or Theta. When I typed "safe", I was referring to the feeling of balance and peace in the body/ brain connection. When you used the term "put them into" it was unclear to me what you meant. The death ray comment is really unnecessary. I'm not uneducated The proper response may have been to just request clarity on the question I posed, before replying with a condescending tone.

…Dr. Huberman, much gratitude…a LOT of information to unpack and apply to real life situations.

As a Dyslexic, and specific to balance, I experience an auditory delay (the time it takes the brain to process sound information).  Additionally, having CMT (hereditary neuropathy) in my feet, the sensory information that my feet experience when standing/walking that is subsequently sent to the brain is corrupted therefore, the brain struggles to accurately interpret this sensory information consequently, maintaining my balance is a real challenge.

Based on your explanation regarding acceleration and head position I visualize riding my bike in an accelerated figure 8 pattern(s) to enhance my ability to better maintain balance….hmmm

Thoughts?

The content discusses how hearing and balance systems enhance learning and focus. It covers auditory processing, binaural beats, white noise effects, the cocktail party effect, and vestibular system functions. Tools for improving auditory learning, cognitive performance, and mood are explored.

Wait, so if binaural beats aren't uniquely special for learning… why are so many people swearing by them as a productivity hack? Are we all placebo-hacking our brains or is there something deeper going on here?  Would love to hear real experiences

Placebo lending the confidence boost to accomplish is no joke. The mind can overcome all kinds of stuff by choosing to, some just dont realized something helped them subconsciously "choose"

¡Hola Profe! I was wondering, is there a way to speed up recovery after learning or working in really noisy environments. Like a noisy classroom, which is relevant for my teens, or having a construction site next door. I found that concentration in that kind of situations comes with a cost of being really tired, irritated and really sensitive to any kind of noise for a couple of hours afterwards. Thank You for all Your hard work and care for all of us.

If a person suddenly experiences hearing loss in one ear, is there anything that person can do to try to regain the direction or origin of a sound for which division cannot detect… As if it occurs in the back or in the sides of the head?

Any suggestions for equipment-less tilted acceleration practices? Thank you!
